The Product Director, Lippincott Solutions primary responsibilities include:
Directs and Manages the following for all nursing solutions products:
Market Research/Customer Insight
Forecasting for Product/Product Lines annually
Three- year planning of sales and signings for revision and new products
Completion of Business Plan which details market trends, customer needs, competitive landscape and publishing plan related to these elements
Acquiring new products and further defining/enhancing computer-based simulation product line
Complete business cases for internal review and approval, including sales forecasting, costs (working with Product Managers) and P&Ls
Sponsoring the Development process
Working with the Product Managers, as well as any technical project managers/technology managers
Mitigate any issues that come up during the development process related to competitive, market and customer developments, and/or author/resource issues
Drive the requirement for high level epics needed by the scrum team to deliver successful agile development
Sets and monitors product KPIs
Ensures products comply with required norms in the target markets, ie accessible, discoverable, integrated with EHR and LMS solutions, reporting as needed by the customer
Management of the P&L
Monitor sales and costs lines of the P&L ensuring sales and costs are on target and on budget by:
Oversee sales opportunities, working with sales colleagues to ensure the meeting of budget targets, and ultimately the increasing revenue.
Working with marketing and sales colleagues for effective product launches and sales support for all disciplines including creation and execution of Market Development plans at the beginning of the Product Development life cycle
Travel to visit customers in hospitals, and exhibit travel to ensure a depth and breadth of market/customer needs and new opportunities for product
As a manager, the Product Director, Lippincott Solutions has three direct reports -- the Clinical Director, Nursing Informaticist, and Senior Product Manager
As a manager the Product Director, Lippincott Solutons will be responsible for:
Conducting quarterly performance discussions focusing on employee development
Completing and Conducting annual reviews
Education: College degree (Master's degree or higher); relevant experience required.
10 or more years of experience in product management with 3 or more years in a leadership role. Knowledge of trends, developments, and professionals/authors in nursing, nursing simulations
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong knowledge of digital platform development.
Experience of working in agile development framework
High degree of professionalism.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong project management skills
Ability to develop strategic business plans
Ability to develop (and/or work with associated personnel to develop) user requirements, user experience
Ability to determine travel plans relating to use of resources to meet goals
Ability to determine customer needs and market trends
Ability to create and manage budgets
Attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines
Negotiating and problem solving skills
Ability and willingness to travel extensively to meet business goals and objectives
General computer literacy and specific demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office software -- Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Willingness and ability to work as part of a team.
Clinical experience as a healthcare professional within the last 3 years along with experience working with EHRs and LMSs.
General knowledge of the healthcare market
Experience of the nursing professional development market in the US
