BASIC FUNCTION

The System Engineer is a key technical resource for Enablon, providing advice, training and technical support for various projects. They are part of a team that is responsible for the service levels of the infrastructure by spearheading concepts, processes, and tools to keep our systems current with changing technologies. In addition, the Systems Engineer works closely with professional technical staff in the IT management team in evaluating current systems and making decisions on future development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Systems Engineer is responsible for deploying and maintaining the integrity and security of enterprise's infrastructure system that support the various departments within Enablon. Below is a list of the essential duties:

  • Overseas mission-critical applications

  • Monitors SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) hosting infrastructure

  • Monitors system logs

  • Responds to incidents based on priority

  • Protects confidential information while allowing appropriate access

  • Complies with all company processes and tools use to track opportunities

  • Ensures Antivirus is up-to-date and functioning

  • Examines and understands the backup process and procedure

  • Administers VMware Infrastructure

  • Assists with the configuration of the network & firewalls

  • Installs and audits configuration of servers

  • Corresponds with employees on issues

  • Drafts configuration and installation of new hardware

  • Fosters Desktop Support Team

  • Understands various monitoring systems

  • Writes and updates standard operating procedures

OTHER DUTIES

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Required: Bachelors Degree

Preferred: Masters in Information Technology or equivalent

Experience: 4-6 years of IT related experience or equivalent

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:

Required: Active Directory, PowerShell, Local and Wide Area Network (LAN, WAN) protocols and services Dynamic Naming System (DNS), Dynamic Hosting Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), Virtual Private Network (VPN), Radius, Internet Information Services (IIS), SQL Server 2008R2+, Windows Server (2008 R2, 2012, 2016), Oracle, Unix, and troubleshooting Skills.

Preferred Certifications: MCSA Windows Server 2008, CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
