We are currently seeking a Sr. Director, Product Management for our Health Language business in Denver, CO. This person will be responsible for both development and execution on roadmap and strategy for all Health Language product offerings. This role also supports the collection of market knowledge to gain critical insight into industry trends and support the development of strategic initiatives and product enhancements.
Additionally, supports initiatives through establishment of cutting-edge processes, and continuous incorporation of new, innovative technologies. Activities include: gathering industry knowledge and competitive intelligence to support Health Language objectives; defining and driving the product strategy and roadmap for Health Language offerings; enhancing standards and processes between Marketing, Sales, and other operational functions; managing and controlling departmental expenditures within agreed budgets; developing an optimal organizational structure; managing Product Management resource(s); participating in organizational activities to meet or exceed company objectives; and representing Wolters Kluwer within the industry.
Oversee cross-functional collaboration with customers, R&D, clinical content, sales, marketing, and client services to define comprehensive product roadmaps for each product line
Manage and execute to the product roadmap for each product line including product enhancements, new features, new products and future product strategy. The plan must support the organization's overall vision and annual business development plan (BDP)
Serve as the subject matter expert and participate in product demos and presentations (internal and external); product documentation; internal product training; understanding customer workflows; knowledge of the competitive landscape including competitor product offerings' strengths and weaknesses; knowledge of market, regulatory, certification, and accreditation trends as they relate to the individual products; product ROI, pricing and positioning
Drive product success and acceptance by identifying new product opportunities, expanding existing products to adapt to the market and new customer workflows, anticipating and keeping pace with technology and healthcare IT advancements
Assist with gathering customer requirements and developing detailed functional design specifications for new products and features
Development, Medical Content, and Informatics:
Coordinate with R&D, Medical Content, Services, and other teams to plan, schedule and execute product development process according to each product lines' development cycle
Work with each team to ensure that product management deliverables for development cycle are met in accordance with project schedule. The key product management milestones are requirements gathering and functional specification development
Provide subject matter expert feedback on end-user documentation for assigned product lines
Coordinate product launches with Product Marketing team for quarterly software releases
Conduct sales meeting product presentations as requested
Influence the development of training materials and insure product training is conducted for quarterly software releases
Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Healthcare, Business, or related discipline
Preferred: Master's Degree in Information Science, Healthcare, or Business Administration
Preferred: Product Management Certification
Minimum Experience: 10 years of experience in healthcare IT and product management, including:
2 years of senior management experience
Working within the clinical healthcare industry
Managing Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions preferred
Gathering and applying competitive intelligence and market knowledge
Creating and implementing product strategies
Employing Agile software development methodologies
Managing financial operations and budgets
Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication
Demonstrating excellent presentation skills
Utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Preferred Experience: 10 years of product management or similar experience, including:
5 years Director level experience.
Managing healthcare IT software products
Participating in marketing or sales activities
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications: (First list requirements, followed by preferences.)
Proactively pursues professional development activities (e.g., attending seminars, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks).
Manages time and company resources appropriately.
Performs other duties as requested
