Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting is looking for an Associate Development Engineer to work out of our Irving, TX office.

Basic Function

As part of the Wolters Kluwer DevOps engineering team, you will operate and automate the management of very large distributed analytic systems using the very latest in DevOps tooling. Your responsibilities will include the administration of development and production environments and will contribute to productizing new software by developing installation, deployment and management scripts.

You will leverage your expertise as part of a growing multi-disciplinary team of DBAs, Engineers, and Solutions Experts with deep domain knowledge in distributed systems. You will aid in the comprehensive instrumentation of the Medium Large software platform and contribute new ideas regarding best practices for deploying, maintaining and optimizing our infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help shape the future of our CCH business by delivering high quality, innovative solutions that bring exceptional value to our customers.

  • Show initiative and motivation to solve problems, adapt to changes, and follow through on tasks.

  • Work in Agile teams following Agile + SAFe methodologies to deliver high quality products on time.

  • Participate in special projects such as Greenfield and v1 development, create microservices, integrate third party libraries, and conduct technical research regarding different ways to improve our development environment and best practices.

  • Develop applications utilizing Hybrid Cloud technologies (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).

  • Improve your skills daily via mentoring, brown bag sessions, and other group learning opportunities that you are always welcome to attend or even lead.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (CS degree preferred)

Experience:

  • A strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented programming and design, data structures, multi-threaded development, and general debugging techniques.

  • Familiar with secure coding practices (OWASP).

  • Familiar with Git and TFS source control.

  • Beginner to intermediate knowledge in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, C#, Java.

  • Some understanding of Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 or higher (knowledge of the CLR, BCL, etc.).

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
