Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting is looking for a Senior Director, Quality & Release Management to work out of our Kennesaw GA or Irving, TX office.

The Senior Director, Quality Engineering is a newly created role that will be responsible for leading the quality engineering function and performance including feature testing, test automation and capacity testing and improving quality in all aspects of the development process. This role is ideal for candidates who are extremely knowledgeable about quality engineering QA infrastructure development, Test scripting, QA tooling, Metrics reporting, continuous integration and delivery, bug discovery, and automation. This role will operate in a highly collaborative and matrixed organization including driving relationships with Product Management, Software Engineering and Global Business Services Support teams. The ideal candidate will be experienced with and energized by inspiring, leading and mentoring Quality Engineers and developing the Quality Engineering organization, processes, and systems for optimal performance.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Identify and implement improvements in processes, tools and test automation to ensure high quality and scalability for releases and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Drive the quality strategy, processes, metrics and drive KPIs for product release quality

  • Deliver scalable low-maintenance software services, tools, test and continuous deployment infrastructure

  • Partner with Software Engineering and Product Management to define release requirements and plan testing strategies to meet those requirements.

  • Imbibe customer driven test development methodology with real-time feedback from customers

  • Work with cross-functional teams to foster and execute a team based approach to high quality development and launches

  • Accountable for the quality of test activities during the release of products to production. Implement, gather and report on team and project based metrics to track business value

  • Provide hands on technical expertise to build testing infrastructure to automate and simulate customer environments including driving TDD/BDD like Gherkin, etc.

  • Direct, lead and inspire Quality Engineering teams to achieve defined goals through motivation, mentoring, coaching, process innovation, team building and providing the necessary training opportunities

Job Qualifications


  • Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field desired


  • 10-+ years of Quality Engineering and Software Testing experience with operation experience in a cloud offering environment

  • 3+ years leadership experience in Quality Engineering and Software Testing, preferably managing mid to large size teams or managing smaller teams in complex technical & matrixed environments

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications: (First list requirements, followed by preferences.)

  • Experience in leading and managing remote and co-located teams

  • Experience in building CI/CD environment and integrating with QE processes

  • Expertise in building products from the ground up with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, product and internal team to define scope, targets, project plans and deliverables

  • Experience, success and passion for building, motivating, leading and coaching high performing teams to achieve organizational objectives

  • Experience building a product to the market in the data/monitoring spaces

  • Passion for working with technology and excitement for creating high quality consumer commercial software products
