This role is in our Compliance Solutions division within GRC.

Software Engineer III - 18-20606

Responsibilities:

  • Expert in technologies and the tools used in the WKFS development environment (C#/.NET, ASP.NET, MVC, MVVM, SQL, WCF, REST, WPF, Javascript, jQuery, Knockout, HTML, HTML5, CSS, XML, XSL, AJAX, JSON, nHibernate, Visual Studio 2015 -2017, Team Foundation Server)

  • Prior experience working in an Agile environment

  • Ensure that software products deliver business value, are completed on time, have high quality, and minimize technical debt

  • Lead design and code efforts within a project team

  • Assist with technical and process mentoring and/or training of the engineering staff, particularly in the areas of software design, good coding practices an Agile methodology

  • Assist in defining and implementing new development processes, tools, and methodologies while demonstrating a strong knowledge of industry standard and best practices

  • Continuously stay current on market trends and new technologies that can affect how we approach our solutions

  • Develop and document software designs that emphasize usefulness/usability, stability, performance and reusability

  • Participate in R&D initiatives that are focused on new product design, usage and/or applicability of new technologies and architectural direction

  • Successfully interact across various functional roles and departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration

  • Accurately assess/identify project and/or business risks providing critical decision support by identifying acceptable risks and outlining risk impact/responses

  • Work independently. The expectation is that the employee in this position will be able to receive a statement of objectives and high level direction and be able to figure out the details of what needs to be done technically, as well as be able to clearly communicate the technical vision to his/her peers

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science (or related discipline) required or 5 years of relevant work experience

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in professional software development (Microsoft Stack)

  • Understanding of and experience with an agile SDLC (such as Scrum, XP, Lean, Kanban, Scrumban)

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of and experience in developing in a Continuous Integration Environment

  • Understanding of and experience in the use and creation of automated unit tests

  • Knowledge of common software design patterns (MVC3 or MVC4 preferred)

  • Knowledge of ORM Frameworks (such as nHibernate and Entity Framework)

  • Knowledge of Dependency Injection Containers (such as Castle Windsor and Unity)

  • Knowledge of NoSQL DBs (such as RavenDB or MongoDB) is a plus

  • Knowledge of Responsive Design is a plus

  • Knowledge of Xamarin, PhoneGap, Appcelerator are a plus

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in developing .NET/C# technology solutions

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience of developing hosted web-based software

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in performance tuning of complex software systems

  • Prior experience working in financial services or a commercial software/SaaS company is preferred
