We are looking for a Global Director, in Design Engineering, for our Global Business Services division.
This position is a new position, created to accomodate growth internationally with our Infrastructure division within Wolters Kluwer.

Lead a team of technical engineers for the delivery of solutions, which include the private and/or public cloud, virtualization, database, systems management tools, automation, and networking
Develop detailed low level designs to enable the delivery of technical components or solutions in accordance with a pre-defined set of business requirements and outcomes as specified by our Solution or Domain Architects
Help ensure the Design Engineers leverage a standard set of enterprise wide artifacts such as design patterns and standards
Follow guiding design principles helping ensure the develop solutions or technical components deliver our strategic intent, whilst meeting the solution requirements providing business value
Specify and apply appropriate analytical techniques to create information which supports business decision-making while formatting and communicating results, using textual, numeric, graphical and other visualization methods appropriate to the target audience
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of specific specialisms, and provide expert advice regarding their application
Provide advice, assistance and leadership associated with the planning, design and improvement of service and component availability, including the investigation of all breaches of availability targets and service non-availability, with the instigation of remedial activities
Specify and design large or complex systems selecting appropriate design standards, methods and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and help ensure they are applied effectively
Oversee the transition process, develop the organization's approach and define the acceptance criteria for service transition while promoting and monitoring project quality outputs to help ensure they are fit for purpose and fit for use within operational service
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
A minimum of ten years of progressive IT experience with at least five years of leadership experience
A minimum of five years within a design engineering role with at least two to three years with migrating infrastructure resources towards the cloud such as migrating data with Azure and/or AWS
At least two years of experience in specific design domain
Recent experience within the design and implementation of complex, secure, highly available and highly scalable solutions within a public or private cloud
Experience with one or more of the following; cloud computing, server/datacenter virtualization, storage, information security, network, enterprise wide architectural governance, architecture decisions, exceptions, standards, and developing foundational re-useable technology components
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation and project management skills
Strong prefer those with one or more architecture certifications such as
ZACHMAN or similar,
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
Ability to travel up to 50%
