We have a growth role and opportunity now available! We are looking for our newest team member to join our team as our Product Owner, LNC/CEC/LLH. The Product Owner is responsible for setting, prioritizing, and evaluating the work generated by a software Scrum team. Their goal is to ensure the launch of high quality features and UX that support the defined business goals and strategy. This role partners with product strategy, technology, marketing, customer service and others in the organization.

Wolters Kluwer is highly focused on constantly improving the way nurses learn about and practice medicine. To that end, our Lippincott Nursing Center and Continuing Education Products are quickly evolving to attract and serve a wide array of nurses at different points in their career. The product owner will be critical in furthering this mission by improving the adoption, usage and engagement of nursing populations via different tools and content sets.


  • Take lead of Agile Scrum team as the Product Owner

  • Provide vision and direction to the Agile Scrum team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements

  • Ensure that the Agile Scrum team always has adequate, valuable stories to work on

  • Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product

  • Partner with product strategy to create and maintain product roadmap

  • Prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy

  • Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories

  • Work closely with Product Strategy to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI

  • Lead product release planning and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities

  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments (critical enhancement requests and defects) impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals

  • Research and analyze the market, the users, and the roadmap for the product

  • Follow our competitors and the industry

  • Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends

  • Actively participate in the Go to Market process working with relevant internal teams

  • Ensure Internal teams are kept abreast of product releases and release content

  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Support other projects as Product Owner as needed.


  • 5 Years of product owner experience; strongly prefer that experience working with scrum or agile teams

  • 3 years working on a customer facing Internet based product that has heavy traffic volume

  • 5 years as a product owner working with content and search platforms.

  • 4 years' experience using agile (or Scrum) methodologies to plan, define and build solutions.

  • Full understanding of content and search platforms

  • Experience using consumer or lean methodologies to continuously improve user adoption, usage, and engagement (Build, Measure, Learn)

  • Publishing experience preferred, but not required

  • Healthcare industry a plus.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a strong ability to socialize ideas and get buy-in.

  • Ability to think strategically while considering tactical implications.

  • Excellent execution, prioritization, and organization skills

  • Strong analytical skills in measuring opportunities and product performance

  • Ability to adjust, respond, and manage a changing list of priorities to meet deadlines

  • Occasional travel required, less than 15% to Chicago, NY, or where the client is located.
