Responsibilities:

  • Focus on standardization, harmonization and process improvements related to the accounting process and procedures, as well as leading key initiatives related to the strategic plan, corporate accounting policy changes and operational streamlining across the North American Accounting Center (NA-AC)

  • Operate in a matrix environment in conjunction with the NA-AC accounting staff to help ensure the financial books and records are presented accurately

  • Help ensure the Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled timely and in proper order to meet the needs of internal and external audit requirements

  • Proactively engage with the business leaders to address requests for accounting policy interpretation, system integrations and may be called upon to support M&A activities

  • Resolve day to day operational issues impacting the assigned organization as it relates to achieving or exceeding agreed to service levels

  • Help ensure the timely and accurate recording and reporting of financial information including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

  • Identify, document and implement process improvements to help ensure sustainable controls are embedded in each financial process

  • Manage, mentor and coach a large team (up to 25) that are often geographically distributed

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of fifteen years of progressive accounting experience with at least five years in a management/leadership role; preferably with experience in financial planning and analysis, treasury, audit and/or operations

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university along with a CPA; Master's degree from an accredited college or university preferred

  • Ability to travel up to 15%

  • Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to quickly establish close, collaborative working relationships and credibility throughout various organizational levels

  • Demonstrated collaborative business skills, ability to work as a team lead and team member; and to respectfully challenge the Business Unit when necessary

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a virtual organization
