We have a growth role and opportunity now available! We are looking for our newest team member to join our team as our Scrum Master. The Scrum Master is responsible for making certain the Scrum Team lives by the values and practices outlined by Agile Scrum product development methodology and that the Scrum team performs at its peak level. The Scrum Master will be the process owner for the team, creating a balance with the Product Owner throughout the life of the project. The Scrum Master will also coordinate and support development with other internal departments and external partners or vendors as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and mentor Scrum teams in the development and delivery of business critical, enterprise online products

  • Ensure the Scrum methodology is implemented effectively and provide coaching and training to maximize its benefits

  • Organize and facilitate sprint and release planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, demos and other meetings as needed

  • Track and communicate team velocity and sprint progress within the agreed reporting framework

  • Assist with product backlog maintenance and with making appropriate commitments to deliver business value through story selection, definition of tasks and estimation

  • Participate proactively in developing and maintaining standards, tools and best practices

  • Use knowledge of the business to assist the relevant Product Owner to prioritize requests in a timely manner

  • Provide technical input on specifications for new development or enhancement to current systems

  • Identify and remove impediments to progress

  • Facilitate team discussion and conflict resolution

  • Assist with the launch plan and oversee the coordinated roll out and delivery

  • Deliver completed product backlog items to Production by the end of the sprint to which they were committed

OTHER DUTIES

  • Promote and practice our core Agile Scrum principles

  • Mentor and provide guidance to internal and external technical teams.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education: Strongly prefer a Bachelor's degree in a related field

Experience:

  • 4-5 Years of experience overall in the IT sector, with 2-3 years of experience as a Scrum Master, with a strong preference for those whom have experience with web-based product projects.

  • Experience in successfully delivering large/enterprise size projects, ability to make independent decisions, ability to lead teams, ability to stay calm under pressure and multi task.

  • Experience in managing complex software development projects and teams; effectively negotiate/influence others; communicate technical/complex information both verbally and in writing to all audiences; analyze and problem solve a variety of issues; carry out Scrum ceremonies

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:

  • Certified Scrum Master

  • Possess the ability to work with and influence a wide range of stakeholders across all roles and levels (IT, Product Development, Marketing, Sales, etc.)

  • Experience in working and communicating effectively as a part of a team, balancing needs across stakeholders and technology teams

  • Meticulous organizer of time and tasks

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional travel required.
