Wolters Kluwer Sr. Salesforce Administrator in Riverwoods, Illinois
The Sr. Salesforce Administrator will support Legal & Regulatory by analyzing user needs and developing solutions through configuration and customization of the SF platform and associated Apttus CPQ managed package. This will include configuration of the SF platform, configuration of the Apttus CPQ managed package, identification of development projects, and identification of and selection/implementation of AppExchange applications.
Responsibilities include needs analysis, user management, configuration, customization, report and dashboard development, data management, campaign management, and training and support for Salesforce.com and AppExchange applications. The ideal candidate will be process-oriented, detailed and have analytical skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
Design, develop and modify SF software systems and Apttus force.com managed package systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
Implement results of end user needs and process analysis to provide "best practice" configuration and customization of the core SF solution
Implement results of end user needs and process analysis to provide "best practice" configuration and customization of the Apttus CPQ managed package
Participate in system capabilities extension design projects
Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of SF system capabilities and requirements.
Ensure data integrity by monitoring data for accuracy and completeness (own data integrity management for Apttus CPQ managed package)
Provide and analyze system performance and usage metrics to track trends
Manage backup strategy and direct activities for secure storage and maintenance of system, data and metadata backups
Consult with internal and external customers about SF software system design and maintenance.
Make process recommendations, based on trends/patterns/sequences discovered through consultation with end users and SF and Apttus CPQ data analysis
Help develop and monitor new Operations policies and procedures
Supervise the work of programmers, technologists and technicians and other engineering and scientific personnel.
Work with Salesforce.com developers on system extensions, customizations and integrations
Work with Apttus developers on system extensions, customizations and integrations
Modify existing SF software and Apttus CPQ managed package software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.
Participate in SF and Apttus process improvement activities
Act as a tier 2 point of contact and support for Salesforce.com/Apttus users and tier 1 power users -- from that, collect error data & conduct error resolution
Develop and direct SF software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
Define testing requirements and oversee testing efforts of Salesforce and Apttus developers for system extensions, customizations and integrations
Participate in development and updates of training materials and communications to the user group
Support L&B Training & Development team to conduct training of Salesforce.com to users
Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design SF system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
Participate in regularly scheduled update meetings with IT and management to revisit application success factors and ensure incorporation of additional user requirements
Participate with cross functional teams and SFA Governance board to address strategic business issues involving CRM and sales operations
Analyze SF/Apttus user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
- Participate in end user needs and process analysis to provide "best practice" recommendations for implementation, tools, and customizations
Coordinate SF, Salesforce1 and ancillary software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.
- Participate in Salesforce/Apttus customization projects through their successful completion
Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration.
Direct Development of SF/Apttus dashboards and reporting
Direct design of regular reporting for leads, sales opportunities and customers; ad hoc report creation as needed by Sales Management and Reps and other departments
Integrate data from multiple sources and systems to generate routine or ad hoc reports
Set up Marketing campaigns, campaign hierarchies, lead queues, assignment rules and Web-to-lead and auto response rules
Develop strong relationships with sales management to ensure proper use of the application
Strive to be up-to-date in best practices, development methods and technologies
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field, OR equivalent.
Salesforce Administration Certification Required
Average proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Visio, Power Point and Outlook
Strong understanding of software development methodologies
Strong communications skills including the ability to facilitate meetings, prepare concise documentation, write business cases, prepare presentations, etc
Ability to develop strong relationships with people at all career levels and in various functional areas, e.g. sales, IT, marketing, etc
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
5+ years related experience including 3+ years of experience with Salesforce.com, or a combination of Salesforce.com and other CRM platforms with experience in administration, development, configuration, customization and reporting
Strong knowledge of Configure Price Quote and of Apttus data structure and functionality.
Strong knowledge of Salesforce.com data structure and functionality
Proven track record of successfully applying formal process improvement methodologies to solve cross-functional business problems that have major business impact
Strong analytical, problem analysis and problem-solving skills
1+ year of experience with Apttus Configure Price Quote or a combination of Apttus CPQ and other CPQ solutions with experience in administration, development, configuration, customization and reporting
Previous experience using a variety of integration and ETL solutions such as Apttus Xauthor for Excel or Informatica
Previous experience supporting data integration for Analytics solutions such as BOBJ, Tableau or Einstein Analytics
Reoccurring Revenue Business experience
