Wolters Kluwer Business Systems Transformation Lead, SAP in Waltham, Massachusetts

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading healthcare organization in the role of Manager of Business Systems Transformation. In this role, you will be supporting the Business Unit transitions of all business systems into SAP. You will work hand in hand with businesses and with the IT teams on the transformation. The tasks will include process mapping, requirements gathering, data transformation requirements, gap analysis, and process design. You will also oversee UAT, training, cut-over, and post transition support. Finally, you will need to help set standardization, best-practices, and look for cost and process efficiencies in transformation planning and implementation.

This position can be based in Riverwoods, IL or Waltham, MA.

  • Responsible for communication between Business Unit (BU) leads and the IT implementation teams

  • Serve as SAP expert on behalf of the BU to define high-level requirements and map to SAP functionality

  • Support the BU in requirements gathering templates and feedback; identify best practices for processing tasks

  • Support the BU with data analysis and data management requirements, supporting data transformation efforts

  • Determine best SAP solutions by work stream to fulfill mandatory requirements

  • Determine or validate resource needs and manage schedules

  • Learn the existing business systems and associated requirements in order to facilitate a successful transformation into SAP, with a target of 80% out of box functionality

  • Support the BU in determining the optimal SAP based approach for processes that cannot transition easily or that are a result of BU structure complexity (geography, size, and business scope)

  • Facilitate documentation, UAT, and post-live support between the IT teams and the BU

  • Ensure that key stakeholder objectives are achieved throughout the transformation (including status updates, reporting, schedule tracking, and cost tracking)

  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical, business or an equivalent field


  • 7+ years of SAP systems for large scale and complex global organizations.

  • Structured transformation management of SAP systems experience is a must.

  • Experience in successful partnering with large, complex, global businesses to transition business systems to SAP

  • Proven leadership in process improvement: order management, CRM, middleware, CPQ, revenue recognition, fiscal reporting, royalty management, and compensation

  • Strong experience with financial systems as well as cost metrics

  • Experience in the proactive management and engagement of key stakeholders including setting and communicating clear expectations and leading SAP transformation efforts

  • Proven ability to build credibility, trust, and rapport with stakeholders at all levels, both within and outside of the organization.

  • Strong interpersonal leadership skills and ability to commit, influence, motivate and successfully manage teams while working in a matrix / dotted line management structure, teams are not direct reports

  • Conflict management skills including the ability to work with and resolve conflicting needs and requirements

  • Ability to analyze data and effectively report problems and provide guidance through written and/or graphical formats.

  • Excellent decision-making skills and business judgment

  • Strong organization skills, ability to prioritize in the face of multiple project demands focus on critical details

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:

  • Experience in process and/or value stream mapping preferred

  • Experience with multinational corporate structures is a strong plus

  • PMI / Lean / Agile certification(s) are a strong plus


  • Travel as needed (up to 15%), predominantly NYC, Waltham MA, and Hagerstown, MD
